Dallas Humanitarian Deferred Action Attorneys
Compassionate Immigration Representation
Humanitarian Deferred Action is a benefit that can be granted to immigrants in the United States who themselves or one of their family members suffer from a serious medical condition. Many times, these immigrants are relied upon to administer necessary medication and provide required transportation for their family member.
To qualify for humanitarian deferred action, you must demonstrate that there is a compelling emergency that meets the following criteria:
- You are applying for admission to the U.S. due to an urgent humanitarian reason
- You can provide significant benefit to the public if allowed to enter the U.S.
If granted, deferred action provides the immigrant to apply for work authorization in the United States. It also provide a period of time in which the immigrant is safe from removal, providing peace of mind for them and their family member with the medical condition. Once the period of deferred action has ended, the immigrant may apply to extend their deferred action.
Extension for Humanitarian Deferred Action
Immigrants approved for humanitarian deferred action can request an extension by filing Form I-94 (Arrival / Departure Record) at least 90 days before their expiration date.
You will also have to meet the following requirements:
- File Form I-131 (Application for Travel Document)
- Pay the required filing fee
- File Form I-134 (Affidavit of Support)
